“What is a Suzal?”, You may be wondering… Growing up, I had probably fifty nicknames, most of them morphing from Suzy into names like Suz, Rooz, Roozle, Roozie, Shadoodle, Suzarooza, Susie-Poosie-Puddin-n’-Pie… I mean, who doesn’t have a nickname with “Pudding-n’-Pie” at the end, right? My dad is mostly to blame for these nicknames.
Anyway, when my now husband, Lukas and I first started dating, I told him that there probably wasn’t a nickname he could think of that had to do with my name that I hadn’t been called at one point or another. After thinking deeply for a minute, with a big mischievous grin on his face, he exclaimed, “What about….SUZAL?!!” And the name stuck from there. Well, for him it did. But you can just stick with Suzy…
