Spooky Sleepover
A few weeks ago, some girls from my Bible Study came over for a sleepover. It happened to be Friday the 13th, and I own a black cat, so you just KNOW that something scary was in the making. At least, that’s what I told my girls, from almost the moment they came in the door. In between giggles and eating pizza, every now and then a tip-tip-tip-tap-tap-tapping would be heard at the window. An even scarier moment was when my outside porch door swung open randomly and banged against it’s hinges. After a few high pitched screams, it was quickly attributed to the wind. But all of this was the build up to the real scaryness.
As it got later into the night, the lights somehow dimmed down to a candlelight’s glow as the whispers of late night girl talk got more serious. All of a sudden, the tip-tip-tip-tap-tap-tapping reached our ears yet again, followed by a bang-bang-bang on the window. “It’s Lukas! He’s trying to scare us!” The girls looked at me questioningly. But I found him in the other room, and brought him out to hear the noise. Bang-bang-bang. Tension was building with the realization that Lukas wasn’t the culprit. Bang-bang-bang! Lukas went outside and looked around the corner….and with a loud exclamation ran back inside the house! Two seconds later two men in masks ran inside the house chasing after him! Screams of terror made even my black cat bolt. Someone fell backwards kicking her legs in the air. Another jumped behind the couch. Another screamed in my ear tripping over me, bolting into the kitchen. After all the fun was over, two of my neighbors who also go to our church came out from the garage with Lukas, holding masks and laughing. I could barely conceal my smiles, but let the girls wonder if Lukas was the one behind it all. Sleepover + Black Cat + Friday the 13th = Spooky Fun!
Believe it or not, this is pre-spook: Natalie, Hannah, Jacuie, Dedzidi, Emily, Stephanie, and Melissa
